SCARBOROUGH BOARDRIDERS WIN 2024 SOUTHERN REGION AND OFF TO THE FINAL AT BURLEIGH HEADS MARCH NEXT YEAR

Kiama, NSW - Monday, 20 NOVEMBER 2023: Scarborough Boardriders have taken out the Australian Boardriders Battle South NSW regional qualifier at Kiama. Following a giant day of action-packed heats on Saturday (18th) in clean two-foot playful peaks at Kiama main beach.

The winning crew from Scarborough Boardriders was comprised of Mannix Squiers, Fin Mclaren, Will Clarke, Shyla Short and Nic Squiers.

Scarborough's finest and master's surfer, Nic Squires, also took home the Oakley Prize Award which recognises the stand out surfer of the event. Nic, along with his son Mannix (junior surfer) are no strangers to the world of competitive surfing and were able to use their experience to lead their team to victory.

Scarborough, Maroubra United, Cronulla Sharks, Elouera, Ulladulla and Jones Beach all have now qualified for the National final, which will be held on the 9th and 10th of March 2024 in Burleigh Heads, QLD.

Other awards included the Letan breakthrough prize awarded to Joey Sear (Elouera Boardriders Club) for pushing the limits, and the Jim Beam Club Spirit award to Jones Beach Boardriders (JBB) for great sportsmanship.

Clubs that competed included Maroubra United, Werri, Sandon Point, Sapphire Coast, Dalmeny, Jones, Elouera, Culburra, Broulee, Cronulla, Scarborough, Ulladulla, Bondi, Malua Bay and Woonona
