comp update Beau Foster (Lake Munmorah, NSW) pulled the cat out of the bag today at Cronulla, winning the Triple Bull Pro in a amazing come-from-behind victory. As the first event on the prestigious 2009 Hurley NSW Championship Circuit, the Triple Bull Pro today saw Australias best cadets (16 years and under) going ballistic at one of the states best waves and most beautiful locations. With $500 up for grabs the Triple Bull Pro offered the states next crop with an opportunity to compete for serious monetary rewards and bragging rights, but in an all-star final it was Foster who stole the show literally. Winning from Cooper Chapman (North Narrabeen, NSW), Jack Scollard (Lake Munmorah, NSW) and (Cronulla, NSW), who finished second, third and fourth respectively, Foster squeaked home. Chapman led the from the outset posting a 5.10 (out of a possible 10), but was in need of a decent backup score to solidify his lead. And thats when Foster struck.
This is my biggest result so Im super stoked, said a joyous Foster. With
two minutes remaining he was in perfect position for one of the bigger
waves of the day and went to work with a flurry of forehand manoeuvres
to net himself a 6.10 (out of a possible 10) and move from third into
first. I was lucky enough to be in the right spot when that set came through with two minutes to go and I got the score I needed to win. For Chapman however, the form surfer of the event, todays result is bittersweet. It just didnt go my way today unfortunately, he said dejectedly. All of today's pics are for sale. knew I needed a decent backup wave but I couldnt get one and was
out of position when that set came through in the last few minutes.
