2004 SCARBOROUGH BOARDRIDERS BALI TRIP to DESERT POINT
Fri 10 Sept -10am flight from Sydney to Denpasar airport, (which is really in Kuta) arrived at 2.30pm. Christian, the boys and his cat weasel were there to offer Greg and myself some much needed transport. Previously Greg was heard yelling across the floor "roey how much is 100,000 worth again". (five frothing Bali dudes nearly had $16 for carrying his bags 5 metres)
In the end they got 10,000 or $1.60 for their efforts, they were stoked)
Christian dropped us at our hotel after missing the turn off in the crazy one-way street network that is downtown Kuta. (a reminder to all not to use the travel brochures as a guide to find your hotel. They showed ours on the wrong side of the main street. We immediately got changed and headed out for a late surf at Tuban. It costs 25,000 to get a boat out and back to Airport Lefts, Middle reef and Kuta Reef. The surf was small, about 2ft with occasional 3 ft sets at middle reef. Fun except for the three other guys that thought that because they were in Bali for a day longer than us that the drop-in rule didn't apply

Sat 11 Sept
- Got up at 6am and went surfing at Gangu on the first morning. It was fun and about 3 - 4ft on the sets and really not that crowded when we first arrived. Got some good waves off the middle peak until it got a bit busy, went in and had a feed before another surf. The guys were split between the uncrowded left and the main peak. Good waves were had by all
.Then it was off to Uluwatu for the afternoon. Christian, Josho, Zen, Seany, Jacko and I all piled into the Super Kajang a weird looking stubby 4WD vehicle that isn't 4WD. cont>
