The second biggest night in our clubs calander is on this coming Friday
Night at The Beaches Hotel in Thirroul with 6 of our best looking
male members going Head to Head on the Catwalk against 6 of The Thirroul
Butchers Rugby League players to determine which club has the best
looking blokes! Helped down the runway by the girls from the 2010

to be missed. We need to get as many of our over 18 members there

Special mention to :
1. all the grom's who took on some solid waves that were way over

2. Billie Melinz who learned the hard way that fibreglass is harder
than your head. Billie ended up with quite a gash on her head but
hung around and recovered remarkably after her third bacon roll for
lunch!! gutsy effort Billie.
3. the over 45's who surfed howling onshore mess in the near dark
on saturday arvo. bd managed two clean barrels and made the rest of
us look ordinary.
4. Shaun Ando for muscling up in the water when DP nearly got killed
by an out of control kook who launched his board off the lip straight
at dylan half destroying his new board and almost drowning dylan.
it's a good thing the groms didn't hear shaun's suggestions to the
other guy!!
5. likewise to Eddie m. for mentioning to the two guys, continually
burning the microgroms at the point at seal rocks, that if they did
it again he would drown them both. apparently the kids had no problem
getting some waves after that!
6. Bravest man on camp award to Adam w. for actually taking joel home
to face the music with joels new hair style.
Many thanks to RIchard and jean for the food. it was great. christian
however did still managed to slip some hot dogs into the menu!
Huge thanks to Pete J. for driving the bus. it is a big responsibility
and Pete does a great job.
Christian has booked for next year. date out asap to allow the organised

Its that time of year again and we are gearing up for yet another
big year for our Club. We would like to take this opportunity to thank
you all for the sponsorship and support over recent time. Your support
is greatly appreciated!!.
The Scarborough Club has made a conscious decision to focus on developing
our junior talent in recent years. Your support has been the direct
contributing factor of this with our club now consisting of the most
talented Junior Surfers in the Illawarra and State. This is a proven
fact!. Yesterday our Juniors won 4 out of a possible 5 divisions in
the 1st Leg of the 2010 Blue Scope Steel Surfing Illawarra Junior

The Club is putting the final touches to our New Trailer and
we will now be fully mobile and equipped for hosting larger events
in the future. The Trailer will provide the club with a greater presence
and a more professional operation with our 2010 sponsors getting significant
signage and logo placement.
Thanks
again and looking forward to a successful year ahead for your company

"Raising the bar at Scarborough"
The Scarborough Boardriding Club celebrated their 2009 season last
Saturday night to a packed house at their major sponsors The Beaches
Hotel Thirroul. With the club celebrating its 25th year in the Northern
Surburbs this year it was an important night and a future celebratory
Boardriders Ball is planned for 20th Feb .

With
the Scarborough Club currently boasting some of the Illawarra's/ NSW's
Best Junior Talent, Club President Christian De Clouett said"
Both our Under 18 and Under 14 division's this year along with our
Girls division was of the highest standard the club has ever seen
and with the group of kids we have now in the club I feel we are breeding
success and a real competitive culture that these kids will take into
their individual surfing pursuits and feel we are definitely raising
the bar at Scarborough." This is related to both Riley Killham
and Kalani Ball of our Under 14s placing in the Top 10 in the State
this Year with Rachel Campbell also finishing 3rd in the State U18
Girls.

The night began with the clubs next generation, 25 Micro Grommets
being awarded generous prize bags from this divisions fantastic sponsor
Gromz Surf Shop Thirroul.
Christian stated 'You are looking at the future of surfing in the
Northern Suburbs.." and whilst all talent was acknowledged particular
standouts in the group were Billie Melinz, Keanu Miller, Joel Wood
and Luke Rice.
It was also paramount that the club had received such great support
to help, encourage, promote and ensure the future success of the club.
The club again gave a DP surfboard, a GROMZ surfboard and a perfectwave.com
surf trip voucher to 3 lucky club members. Also on the night another
DP surfboard was raffled.
Scarborough Boardriders would like to thank all sponsors, members
and the committee.
