Amongst the young guys Dan Saville surfed well, Taylor Byrne looked impressive and Matt Morton was unlucky to be eliminated in a tight tussle. Above all great sportsmanship was shown by all competitors and action was completed just before the huge emerald storm hit. Sunday saw the contest return to Thirroul where competitors were met with challenging 2 ½ feet shifting peak conditions which really tested the surfers all day long. Some fantastic heats and semis were completed in the morning followed by the hotly contested finals. The under 16's division saw some fantastic surfing with young Tommy Salvesen from Gerrigong taking out the final with the highest scoring wave of the contest ,with a 9.5 finishing with a big aerial maneuver., 2nd place went to Brett Barley,3rd place was Owen Cramp, with Luke Porra 4th .
